Rudy & SC,
I have off the net for quite some time, but now that I am back on, I have just been lurking in the background on a few forums. Since I have been gone, I lost my original moniker for log-on. It us now dores, but I am still Hud, RP105.
I saw your posts on the Zsatava/Mitchells connection & thought I would chime in.
There was a question on another forum about the Remington 798 & the similarities of its action to the K98. Some one else suggested that they were made by Zastava, & with the info. Rudy provided in his first post on this subject, thats probably true.
Here is a link to Zastava. [link=http://zastava-arms.co.yu/english/civilni.htm newwindow]zastava-arms.co.yu/english/civilni.htm[/link]
Although there is nothing there about manufacture or re-manufacture of K98's, it does show their current civilan & military product line. If nothing else, the section on the history of the company is pretty interesting.
Regards,
Hud
